Arunachal Pradesh
Arunachal Pradesh is a state in northeast India. It was formed from the North-East Frontier Agency region, and India declared it as a state on 20 February 1987. Itanagar is its capital and largest town.
Assam
Assam is a state in northeastern India, known for its breathtaking scenic beauty, rare flora and fauna, and vast rolling plains. The state is home to the one-horned Indian rhinoceros, wild water buffalo, pygmy hog, tiger, and various species of Asiatic birds, and provides one of the last wild habitats for the Asian elephant. Assam is also known for Assam tea and Assam silk. The name Assam is said to be derived from the word ‘asama,’ meaning ‘peerless’ in the now extinct Ahom language.


Meghalaya
Meghalaya, a Sanskrit word meaning “the abode of cloud“, was created as an autonomous State on 2nd April 1970. The full-fledged State of Meghlaya came into existence on 2nd January 1972. Meghalaya has precise historic, geographic and strategic significance for India.
Manipur
Manipur is a state of India located in the northeastern part of the country. It is bordered by the Indian states of Nagaland to the north, Assam to the west, and Mizoram to the southwest and by Myanmar (Burma) to the south and east. The name Manipur means “land of gems”. The state has an area of 22,347 km2 and is known for its bamboo forests.


Mizoram
Mizoram is a state in northeast India. It is known as the “Land of Blue Mountains” and shares its borders with Tripura, Assam, and Manipur, and international borders with Bangladesh and Myanmar. The name of the state is derived from “Mizo”, the endonym of the native inhabitants, and “Ram”, which in the Mizo language means “land”. Mizoram is regarded as one of the hilliest parts of Northeastern India and has lush forests with many unusual plants and thick bamboo groves.
Nagaland
Nagaland is a landlocked state in the north-eastern region of India. It is bordered by the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh to the north, Assam to the west, Manipur to the south, and the Sagaing Region of Myanmar (Burma) to the east. Nagaland was formally inaugurated on December 1st, 1963, as the 16th State of the Indian Union. Its capital city is Kohima and its largest city is the twin Chümoukedima – Dimapur.


Tripura
Tripura is a small yet vibrant state in the northeast part of India. It is surrounded by Bangladesh on its north, south, and west sides, and by the Indian states of Assam and Mizoram on its east. Tripura is famous for its rich history, culture, and natural beauty.
